Not much different to the previous ETD games, only minor additions which don't really justify a new game; New varied zombie models and a damage system are all that really stick out to me as new, aside from the re-skinned story of the last game.
This game is like a DLC of the previous game, which would be alright if the game was more story driven in the first place, or had more of a theme shift. If you've played the previous ETD then this is just tedious to play because of the grind-iness and repetition.
I get that the game won't be drastically different, but without an engaging story it's just plain boring. I'm just repeating what I've already done but with better graphics, and considering the first game wasn't an instant classic it just isn't worth doing that.
This is a safe sequel but an unnecessary one at that. Look to the Learn to Fly games for truly inspired development of an already great game. LTF 3 is an unmitigated successor to their previous games. It's maintained the feel of the series but has managed to remain fresh and fun!
I did enjoy the first Earn to Die game quite a lot, but the series will fall from favour if it doesn't change. Look at games like Sonic the Hedgehog. Used to be amazingly popular but now no one plays it but the die hard fans, and that's because it hasn't stayed fresh or it's lost it's core theme.
If you take away anything from my review, it's that you should attempt to keep the feel of Earn to Die the same, but don't let it become stale and fall from favour.
"Never fear change for without it we wouldn't be human." - Some guy probably said this at some point.
